EFCC which is fully known as The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, informed Judge Ashi on Monday of a federal capital territory, the FCT High Court sitting in Apo, which she had written to the Federation’s Attorney General, AGF , Abubakar Malami, SAN, concerning Extradition of a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, UK.
Diezani and Jide Omokore, a former chairman of the Atlantic Energy Drilling Company, were reportedly arrested by the Commission on February 25, 2019 for conspiring openly and unlawfully acquitted of their actions.
At Penthouse 22, Block B, Admiralty Estate, Ikoyi and Penthouse 21, Building 5, Block C, Banana Island, Lagos. They must be brought to trial on February 25, 2019 for five releases, contrary to section 26 (1) of the Corrupt Practices and Related Offenses Act, 2000.
At the last meeting of December 4, 2018, the court ordered the EFCC and other security agencies to bring him to justice.
At the resumption of today ‘s session, Attorney General Faruk Abdullahi informed the court that the commission had written to AGF to request the extradition of Diezani.
He said: “The commission wrote to the AGF for the extradition process in view of its trial because it is silent in the UK”.
Entitled, Extradition Request Letter from Ms. Diezani Alison-Madueke of the United Kingdom, it was received by AGF on December 14, 2018.
It reads in part: “The Commission has recently brought charges against Ms. Diezani Alison-Madueke in the Federal High Court (batch number FHC / ABJ / CR / 208/2018) and the High Court of the Capital Territory. Federal Republidc of Germany (Lot CR / 22/2018) “.
